At Ashford Small Animal Boarding, we understand and respect that bond.

We want you to feel happy and relaxed, knowing your much-loved pets are cared for just as they are at home, leaving you free to enjoy your holiday with total peace of mind.

Whether you have a rabbit or guinea pig, our dedicated and knowledgeable team will provide the best care, patience, and love throughout your pet’s stay with us.

Accommodation & Environment

Your pet will be housed in their own large wooden hutch inside our air-conditioned boarding shed. Each guest has a private space and will not mix with other pets.

We have just ten hutches in total to ensure plenty of personal attention:

Eight very large hutches suitable for pairs or larger guests

Two smaller hutches, used only for single rabbits or guinea pigs

Every hutch is thoughtfully designed for comfort and cleanliness, featuring:

Fly screening over the wire doors for protection

Pull-out plastic trays for thorough cleaning between guests

A large resting shelf, hay rack, and internal water bottle holder

Outdoor Runs

We offer access to outdoor runs on request. Our large garden includes various run sizes to suit different pets.

However, we generally prefer your pets to remain in their spacious indoor hutches, where they are fully protected from predators and disease.
Because we cannot completely disinfect grass areas between guests — and wild rabbits do visit the garden — we prioritise the health and safety of all boarders by keeping them within their secure hutches.

 Our Story

Rabbits have always been a big part of my life. My very first rabbit was a little black crossbreed called “Poffy”, who lived to the grand old age of 12.

When I moved into my own home, the “bunny bug” truly hit! Over the years, I’ve cared for and bred many rabbits for show. Our surplus babies — the ones who didn’t quite make it into the show world — have always been lovingly rehomed as family pets. Many of these bunnies have even come back to me as holiday guests, which has always felt so special.

In 2023, we decided to open our boarding facility to other small pet owners, after noticing a lack of experienced and knowledgeable small animal boarders locally.
